We got moving early this morning as we really didn't like the strange Dutch clique in the campsite. We took the dogs for a walk around the site this morning, Sammie stopped to sniff the (middle of) the road outside one of the Dutch fortresses and straight away 2 cloggers came flying out ready to club him to death if he dared piss on one of their flower pots. I should add that there were a few Dutch caravanners staying there who were completely normal.
We only went a couple of kilometres up the coast to Altea, There were plenty of parking spots out of the way on the quayside.
Elaine doing her prom pose, Sammie was hiding in the shade as it was rather warm …
Another lovely prom to walk along …
There was a lovely big pool on the beach so Sammie went in for a paddle to cool down …
It was a really nice town - we went for a walk up to the old part of the town passing El Pero Negro … it sounds so much nicer than The Black Dog!
Lots of the locals were out shopping and sitting having desayuna (breakfast) …
A nice backdrop to the railway station. It is a narrow gauge railway that runs from Denia to Alicante …
Breakfast here for 3 Euro …
After walking around for a few hours, plus stopping in a cafe for nibblies we left Altea, heading for Javea. It was a lovely winding coast road …
You pass through a few tunnels, the railway is to the left of the pic … we were just passing over a very deep gorge …
We never got as far as Javea as we spotted a very nice looking little beach with a big car park next to it. It did say ‘no motorhomes’, but there were already about four parked up! Maybe in the peak of summer its a problem, but I couldnt see it being a problem today.
So we are moored up in Moraira.
We passed so many fantastic looking villas today, and since we have been here we have been chatting to three different English couples who all own villas here! One couple were heading back to the UK today so left us some fruit and orange juice!
The beach and the sea were just lovely. I was just taking a pic of the calm Med and the blue sky when all these young ladies jumped in front of the camera!
Apparently there is some sort of festival going on tonight at the fort on the left, so we are going to stay here the night in the carpark …
It is such a lovely spot, we haven't checked out the town yet, we will do that later and post the pics tomorrow …
