I popped down the pub last night to watch a bit of footie action. Unfortunately I got chatting to a couple of locals, next thing it was gone midnight!! No probs, its not that we have to get up early!
It was a beautiful, sunny morning for our morning walk but the temp has dropped a lot. Still shorts weather but too cold for a dip in the sea, hopefully it will warm up again.
All the beach beds and sun shades have been removed and a few more bars and restaurants have shut for winter ...
As we walked along the beach, Elaine righted all the bins that had been blown over in the previous storm ...
She put all the rubbish back in the bins leaving the beach in a pristine condition.
She is the Maffi of Spain!
After lunch I left Elaine cleaning up the pad and took the boys on a extra long walk. The wind had got up so the kite surfers were having fun ...
We walked right to the end of the playa then carried on around the cliff path ...
You wouldn't want to slip off the edge!
Nice view when we got to the end ...
Every morning I hear the fishing boats going out for a days fishing. I never see them 'cos I hate getting up early. However, we always see them heading back to port in the late afternoon, so this afternoon, as they passed our building, we drove down to the port of Garucha to watch the boats come in and unload their catch. The seagulls were getting excited ...
As soon as the boats are tied up the fish are taken straight into the market to be sold ...
There seemed to be a lot of big prawns as well ...
Our local landlord told us that in the old days they used to be able to sell these big prawns for 10 Euros each! |
It was a very slick operation, straight from the boat to the market then into the refrigerated vans ...
It was a big old moon rising as we left the port to head home ...
