Triple Transport Treat

We were up early this morning as we were going on our 'round robin' trip.

The ferry is virtually next to the campsite, so we didn't have far to go.  On the way there we passed these, they are veggies, herbs and edible plants, which are free to be picked whenever they are ripe.  There are a few beds all over the town ...

We got a front row seat on the ferry. Bombo thought he was back on the narrowboat and assumed the position ...

It takes an hour and a half to reach Dartmouth, it is a lovely trip meandering down the River Dart ...

This is a salmon 'village' even though only 10 people live here.  Evidently it should really be classed as a 'hamlet' but a clerk at the records office long ago wrote '100' instead of 10 people ...

Passing Dittisham ...

Agatha Christie lived here until her death ...

And Sir Walter Raleigh lived here ...

As we approached Dartmouth a steam train was making its way to Paignton ...

We had a stroll around Dartmouth and had lunch in a pub before catching a passenger ferry across the river to Kingswear, from where the steam train departs to Paignton ...

We went for a walk around Kingswear and the boatyard.
Nice boat ...

Then it was time to take our seats for the next part of the journey ...

Here comes our engine ...

It is about a 30 minute trip, with the last part skirting the coast ...

Nearly there ...

What can you say about Paignton....well its not our cup of tea!

Haven't had a prom pose for a while, so here's one ...

It wasn't that warm!

88 Comes to mind ...

Finally the last part of the trip, an open top bus back to Totnes ...

All in all we had a lovely, long day out!
