... weather wise that is!
It bucketed down all night last night and was still raining when we left this morning.
We serviced the old girl before we left ...
Our destination today was to Mont Saint-Michel - to check out the French competition to 'our' Mount in Cornwall!
The weather conditions on the way were absolutely atrocious with heavy rain and gale force winds ...
I had to get a shot of this signpost...it's my surname to those who don't know me ...
We arrived at our destination in one piece! We are located about 3 ks away from the mount ...
The parking area (Aire) is a bit more up market than the usual Aire that we stay at! We have an individual parking spot, electric hook up and the usual water and elsan disposal. It was also a bit more exy though at 15.50 Euros (£11.00 or $22.00 AUD) but still very cheap by UK standards, especially near a top tourist spot ...
When we arrived the rain and the wind were bashing away at the van, so we decided to stay put until it cleared ... which it didn't!! So, for the rest of the day we sat in the van hiding! The van was rocking like a boat with the high winds. Finally the rain eased off in the very late afternoon.
I took the dogs for a quick walk and managed to walk reasonably close to the mount before the rain returned and I had to return to base ...
Hopefully it will have stopped raining in the morning so we can check out the mount properly.
It's nice to be on electric hook up for the night. We can give the batteries a good charge, watch lots of crap on TV and El can have her smoothie in the morning! It's just a pity we haven't got a washing machine.
Tonight's location ...
