... as long as you don't hanker after loads of bars, restaurants, water parks, amusements, high rises etc!
I couldn't publish the blog last night as the signal was too dodgy.
So, back to yesterday.....
I left Elaine in the land of nod and went for a walk up to the cliff top. It was the start of another superb day ...
Trying out the selfie flip up screen....yep it works!
Later in the day we went for a walk along the southern headland where we found another superb beach and about 30 motorhomes all parked up ...
Playa La Carolina ... make a note if you are down this way!
It also had a secluded little cove around the corner ...
Totally unspoilt ...
Apart from some deserted cave houses ...
I don't know how old they are but some had reo bars in the walls ...
I can't emphasise enough what a beautiful place this is. We feel so lucky and privileged to be able to take this amazing journey ...
Shot into the sun and it came out like this!
In the afternoon it was swim time. I'm not going to lie and say it was lovely and warm, but it was very pleasant and because the air temperature is so warm its no hardship. El is not good at getting in cold water, so she subathed instead!
We then went for a late afternoon walk up the southern cliff, looking down at our mooring. La Carolina beach is around the next headland ...
We cut across inland heading back to base ...
The moobs are getting bigger!
There was just enough time for a play on the beach with Bombo before the sun went down.
As you can see Sammie is always straining on the lead as he hates the beach ...
We couldn't find a stick so he had to make do with a nice old smelly bit of discarded rope (which he loved!) ...
The end to a glorious day in Paradise.
THIS MORNING ...
We were awoken by the horn of the baker's delivery van! Magic! Fresh bread and croissants! What a great service ... all the campers were there bleary eyed, well it was after 08.00!!
I had a quick look down at the beach and noticed the Spanish navy sailing by ...
Looks like the start of another lovely day ...
Wish you were here xxxxx
We are here XXXXXX! A word of warning Paul. yesterday a friend's retriever came off the beach with a fishing hook stuck in her tongue. This involved a trip to the vets to have it removed under sedation, and all went well, apart from the hole in the wallet. However, the vet advised that beach fisherman are noted throughout Spain for just cutting their lines when finished for the day, leaving their hooks, sometimes complete with tasty morsels that dogs would also like, buried in the sand. This is quite common apparently, and could also hurt your feet if stood on. He said that had the hook gone further down, then it would have been a full blown operation to remove it. His advice was that muzzles should be worn on all beaches, (by the dogs of course), just to prevent this, but then that would stop the ball chasing, stick throwing fun wouldn't it.
ReplyDeleteHi Guys
ReplyDeletei was only reading about the dogs eating old hooks on the Mojacar forum a couple of days ago, but in that instance the poor dog died. This beach is ok as fishing is banned, but with the others we will have to be super careful....bloody fisherman, they were bad enough on the canals!
