Reunited

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we must announce that Paul passed away on Sunday 24th February. We are all going to miss Paul so much, he was a fantastic Brother, Uncle and friend to us all. The only comfort we have is he is reunited with his lovely wife Elaine who he missed so much.

I know there are so many out there who loved Paul and we've had comfort in the lovely messages we have received. May you continue your travels with Elaine, and we miss you so much.

Love Russell and all his family and friends.

  3. It was Paul’s humour and wit that led me to reading the boating blogs. Often l would laugh out loud and be green with envy at how much fun and love Paul and Elaine shared. May they both RIP. Deepest condolences Russell and family. Paula x

  4. Thank you for letting us know of Paul’s passing. He has been in and out of my thoughts over the last few months. I am sure you have looked after him so well I hope you all can get some peace now. The only light in this is to know that hopefully somewhere they are back together making their fun life again.

  5. This is very sad, but not unexpected news. Through their blog, Paul and Elaine felt like extended family. We loved Paul's humorous writing style. For an ex Brit he certainly had that Australian larrikin approach to life. They will both be missed!

  9. I am so sorry and sad to read about Pauls passing, I never met Paul or Elaine but feel that I knew them through this blog which I have followed since the start.
Paul and Elaine have both entertained and inspired me with their writing to get up and go out explore and enjoy life which I am now doing with my 2 dogs and my wife in our motorhome. Their humour, love and bravery in the face of adversity has been an insight into the human spirit. You will be missed but will live on in this blog. I thank you both for letting me share your life.

  10. So sad to read of Paul's passing, but what a wonderful reunioun it will be in heaven for them both. Paul and Elaine's blog was always a highlight as we read about their adventures. Then later as they both faced that blasted Cancer which took their lives so early. RIP Paul and Elaine.

  11. Sad news indeed. I never met Paul or Elaine but I did exchange emails with Paul a few times. Re reading Pauls first ever entry on this blog from March 2011 certainly makes you think, because as Paul wrote 'You realise that life is quite short and you really never know what is around the corner'. R.I.P Paul & Elaine. My condolences to the family. JP

  12. I pass on my condolences to all of you, his family who loved them both. I have no doubt Paul and Elaine's spirits are together again. I began following their blog Manly Ferry before they left for Britain to buy their boat. I enjoyed Paul's writing style and humor, as did do many. Both he and Elaine touched the lives of countless others and while they will both be missed, they will not be forgotten. xxx

  18. Sending our thoughts and all our love to the families of Paul and also Elaine. They were the first people to really encourage us as we left all behind and started our new travelling lifestyle. They touched and greatly inspired us with their generousity of their time and kindness and their love of their animals. So much so we now have 5 rescue dogs in our motorhome with us! Paul's words were always so uplifting through the good and the challenging times. Thank you Paul and Elaine. You've changed our lives. Sending you both love as you are reunited and sending our thoughts to both families. Esther and Dan xx and the gang
