We Are Sailing......

It's not in the same league as the cruises that the guys from NB Chance have been going on lately, there might be just enough time to skull a beer on our upcoming voyage!

We have booked the ferry from Dover to Calais for the 4th May ... mind you, the fare is a bit cheaper than a grand cruise too!

1 x 7.75 metre motorhome, 2 Adults, 2 Dogs and 3 Cats £48.75 !!! How cheap is that?!!

So, that is exciting ... our plans are moving on!

On another matter I thought I would share my latest purchase, which may be of interest to boaters.  I bought this u-beaut phone the other day from Aldi ... it is waterproof, shockproof, it has a camera and torch it is bluetooth enabled, but that is about it.  What I like about it is that it takes 2 sim cards, so at the moment I have my Aussie sim card as well as my UK sim card in it.  When we go to Europe we will buy a European sim and take out the UK one.  I have to have a Aussie sim  in order to do on-line banking with the Australian banks.  The European sim will enable us to make cheap calls in Europe, rather than having a UK one on roaming.  Elaine will still have the main UK whizz-bang phone but we will only use that in an emergency.

How much for the 'Aldi Rugged' phone?  Just £39.95, another bargain!  It comes unlocked but will not work with a 3 sim!!

Here is my Aldi Rugged ...

We cleared a few more things off of the boat today whilst Elaine has been packing stuff into the motorhome.  Once we have moved into the van I will take it to a weighbridge to make sure we are not overloaded!!!

05.00 start tomorrow as we are off to Manchester for Elaine's penultimate appointment....nearly there!!

  2. Curious, How will you stop the cats getting out of the van? I know they sleep a lot, and its probably easy to keep them in the boat, presume litter tray in the cratch? but I just don't see how it works in the van.

    1. Hi Andy. I wish the cats would get out of the van, they are so old 23, 21 and about 18, they do nothing all day apart from sleep and crap! The litter box in the motorhome will live in the shower! We didnt expect the cats to survive the flight from Oz they are well passed their used by date but are still happy and purring away, so we will only put them down if they start to suffer. Its not really their fault that we choose this lifestyle. We will not get any more cats when these ones do depart, they are much more work than the dogs!
