We spotted a lot more storks today! They do a great balancing act ...
We pulled into a motorhome service point as we were very low on water. Whilst filling the tank and emptying the nasties we got chatting to a couple of Poms in a campervan who were heading back to the UK after spending 2 months in Spain. They confirmed what we thought, most of the poms head in a dead straight line to the south of Spain, missing out on the north coast of Spain and the western side of Portugal ... which is a shame as it is such a lovely area. He reckoned we would start to see some today as we reached the Algarve.
We stopped for lunch at a lovely deserted cove, once again no one around ...
Sammie stayed just off the beach with Elaine as he is scared of the noise of the waves!! I took Bombo down and threw his stick for him. He won't fetch a stick in a park etc, but take him to the beach and he goes nuts for it ...
Fetch the stick, you bugger ...
He loves it ...
I also found a huge UXB!!
A lovely spot ...
It was a fair hike up a steep hill to get back to the motorhome ...
We motored on untill we came to the Lands End of Portugal - Sagres ...
We found a spot to park up amongst many more motorhomes, including a couple from the UK.
We took the dogs for a walk to check out the town... the first thing we noticed was that there were a lot of young 'uns around, the second thing we noticed was that it seemed a pretty crummy town! This was the first disappointment since leaving the UK. It is a strange place - it just seems to have been a popular tourist town that has died ... 'a place that once was' as Elaine so poetically put it!
There were no Maccas on our route today, so we found a bar with wifi ... which was full of poms….blokes wearing Spurs football shirts and screaming kids! Thankfully they all buggered off just after we arrived! So we spent a leisurely couple of hours in the bar doing the blog and emails. When we do it at a Maccas it is in and out ASAP!
There is a nice looking little port below the bar, we will check that out in the morning ,,,
Also in the bar was a mum sparrow feeding her young 'uns chocolate ice cream!!
Here is today’s location...
Tomorrow we head East, we are thinking of heading inland for a change ...
20 May: We are publishing this blog from the wifi of the same bar we were at yesterday - except this time we are sitting outside in the van!!
