Back again ... with our continued story!
On Thursday we arrived at our destination, Mayres Savel camping ...
And what a destination it is, the views of the mountains and lake from our mooring are sublime ...
The reason we picked this spot is because I read about it on the blog of 'Motorhome Adventurers' who write a superb travel blog, click here to check it out.
The site accepts the ACSI card so the cost of staying here is a bargain 12 Euros a night (£8.50 or $17.00 AUD a night). For that we have electric hook up, restaurant, bar and a shower block.
A big bonus is that the peak season has finished so the place is virtually deserted. We even moored up away from the other campers so we are completely on our own ...
And this is our view ...
The budgie smugglers came out on Friday ...
Elaine felted some soap ...
We went for a walkies ...
Yesterday we walked to the suspension bridge across the river Drac. It was 2.5 miles to get there up and down a windy track ...
It was well worth the trek to get there ...
It did wobble a bit in the wind, but nothing to worry about! This is the view from roughly the middle ...
We actually had to carry the dogs across the 200 metre span as it was too rough for their little paws ...
Lovely views from the bridge ...
Dont look down ...
The only downside of this place (and it is only minor) is that there are no shops here whatsoever, so luckily we stopped at an Aldi before we got here.
We love it here so much that we will stay a bit longer but will have to go when the food, or worse still, the wine stocks run out!
The only thing you can buy from the restaurant is daily bread and croissants so we are making good use of that service! It is 3 Euros for 2 croissants and a lovely baguette!
And here we are on the Hi Tech map, just below Grenoble ...
Before I finish off, a massive thank you to all the people that read the blog as it's now gone over 400,000 views! This is something I never, ever envisaged when I started this back in March 31st 2011, click here to check it out.
I have enjoyed every entry, and always look forward to what you do next. Thanks for the entertaining entries. Catherine
