On To Burscough

Even a later start this morning as we didn't go to bed till 1.30am!

The Kiwis on NB Firefly cruised past on their maiden voyage ...

Elaine was soon happily swinging her windlass between the locks and swing bridges ...

Once again, there were very few boats about ... we saw 3 on the move.  It would be nice to share some of these big old locks, especially with the rigmarole of unlocking and re-locking the anti vandal mechanisms ...

The Kiwis had moored for lunch, so we disturbed them as we passed by ...

That's the previous owner and boat builder in the side hatch ...

Now folks what is the go with this?  We couldn't make out what it was for ages but it looks like massive sheets of white plastic covering the field......

- weighed down with the blue plastic bags full of...?

Then we passed by this structure - it looks like they are getting ready for the local bobby, a la The Wicker-man...

Junction of The Rufford Branch ...

Nice ...

We stopped at Burscough Bridge to fill with water ... Elaine happily swinging the empty cassette.....she is very happy little swinger today!

Finally, we stopped for the night at Crabtree Swing Bridge, can you get any closer to a pub?!
