Bournemouth and Poole

Elaine was up very early this morning, she took the doggies for a walk through the woods and came across this fella ...

She tried to get a bit closer but he took off ...

We caught the train to Bournemouth - the railway station at Moreton is 5 mins from the campsite.

We then caught a bus down to the pier.  It was another very warm hazy day so we walked along the prom towards Poole ... .

It was virtually deserted, which was amazing on such a nice day ...

We walked along the prom till we got to the doggie friendly beach ...

The sea was absolutely flat.  This boat was flying along with a massive rooster tail from the stern, which usually indicates either a surface drive or a jet drive ...

I'm not sure whether it was a military boat or some sort of prototype/  It was grey with no markings -  whatever it was it was shifting ...

Back on the dog friendly beach ...

We made it to Poole and carried on walking ...

We ended up at Sandbanks. We didn't want to walk back to Bournemouth so we caught a little bus into Poole then took a walk down to the Quay where we went into the marina to have a chat with the guys there.  I used to sell them parts from Australia when the exchange rate was favourable or vice versa if it swung the other way.

It was then a short walk past the RNLI HQ to Poole railway station.  It was then a twenty minute train ride back to the site.

It was a long day for us but especially the dogs, who collapsed in a heap at the first opportunity!

Tonight we have chilled in the van, drinking the last bottle of our stock of French wine ... back to the Aussie stuff tomorrow.
