Short Hop to All Cannings

We left Devizes this morning in warm sunshine.  We hadn't been going long when three flutterbies  landed on the deck and hitched a lift ...



We passed this cute little boat ...

Plus a very cute canalside cottage ...

Here I am, wearing my new hat ... they wanted £15.00 for the same type of hat in Camden Markets - in Devizes it was £5.00 for a u-beaut Chinese-made straw hat ...

One of the two swing bridges today, this one is quite new, and very easy to operate unlike most swing bridges ...

We had a phone call from Jill, Elaine's sister-in-law, who lives close by in Swindon and wanted to catch up before we left the area.  We met Jill, Callie (El's niece) plus Luke and Elaine (El's great nephew and niece) just close by All Cannings, where we also found a great mooring...


It turned out to be a lovely, sunny day so we sat outside for a good few hours ...

The kids had a lovely time running around, playing and ocasionally posing for the camera ...

 

After a lovely family catch-up day, we said our farewells ... 

Tomorrow we will continue our journey back from whence we came!
