Scenes of Liverpool

Had a lovely night sleep - it was strange to hear the sound of small waves hitting the side of the hull, sends you off to the land of nod pretty quickly though!

Very secure mooring here, just across the road is the Merseyside police HQ ...

This has to be one of the best moorings on the whole canal system ...

I counted 50 berths for visiting boats, guess how many are here..........5 !!

That's us on the left of the pic, we are rather dwarfed by the dock.

Noticed this sign on a warehouse close by ...

Very clean and tidy in the city compared with the grubby suburbs ...

All different shapes and sizes of buildings ...

Liver bird on top of the Liver building ...

Such grand architecture.

Nice day it was too!

Monument to marine engineers, commissioned after the sinking of the Titanic ...
Crooked shots are courtesy of Elaine!

Scene of a good night out?  A shoe without an owner, lying in the street ...

Cavern Club area ...

The real Cavern club was just down the road - unfortunately they demolished it.  This one is built out of some of the old bricks.....not the same though is it?!

The boys paying homage to the legend!

Radio city it says on the sign!

Big seagulls here!

Such a great city to walk around; this is going to be such a good stopover.  I am absolutely amazed there are so few narrow, or wide beam, boats here. To  be able to stay in the centre of one of greatest cities in the UK at zero cost just blows me away.

Got to get up at 6.30am in the morning we are going on the train to Macclesfield back to see the quack re BP!
